The essay of J.R.R. Tolkien 'On translating Beowulf' has profound impact to me and I wish to honor the wishes he had laid upon that essay. Although a posthumous work has already been publish after reading it, made me feel wanting because it's in prose and while it has built in using archaic words here and there but not for the sake but for literary purpose. I want to make something of a verse translation that stay true to the literary and archaic diction of the Old English. I do not intend to please anyone with the translation project and I've picked it up after a year of not doing anything with it. I have a different project of stories of my own base on similar philosophies and world construction as the poet.

Beowulf is a book I hold dear and I want nothing more than to pay tribute to the anonymous author and his ever strange tale, whoever he may be he is a genius whose works I am grateful have survived the test of time.
